We had a group of students from a local primary school as a part of culture and English study. We hope the students learned the importance of keeping the tradition for the next generations.
Prefectural Office
We had another great day to demonstrate our project for a group of 41. It is a piecemeal process, but surely the word of mouth is helping to attract more people both from home and abroad.

Our opening ceremony was featured in a local Asahi Shimbun paper.
Septic and rainwater tanks
The septic and rainwater tanks are being installed using a crane over the roof as they are placed on the back side of the house.
Rain gutters
The warm rain started in the afternoon. This was good to check the rain gutters, but kept us inside to clean the house interior.

was the plan! but in my over excitement I cut the power cord to the trimers and shorted some of the house out (Oops!)
Anyway the front entrance is now looking nice and clean and ready to welcome in the new year.

A traditional Japanese shed
Shinyoso also includes a traditional Japanese shed known as a Naya 納屋
Our master carpenter has kindly fixed the rails to the doors, so finally we can put the shed into good use.
